Now 90+ team members strong, CIA was co-founded in 1996 by Mike Reiner with a mission to help families retire happy and sleep well at night.

Our Story

With nearly 30 years as a Registered Investment Adviser and $5B in Assets Under Management (AUM) (as of December 2023) in clients’ wealth management portfolios, our 90+ employees and partners in Georgia, Arizona, Florida, Texas and Colorado have established a nationwide presence.

  1. Mike Reiner co-founded Capital Investment Advisors (CIA) with its first office in Sandy Springs, following a successful career in corporate banking.
  2. Second office location at 200 Sandy Springs Place in Atlanta, Georgia.
  3. Expanded our leadership with the addition of Managing Partners Wes Moss, Mitch Reiner, and Matt Reiner.
  4. Our Tampa Bay branch expands with new office location in Tampa Bay, Florida. Moved to a bigger office location in Atlanta.
  5. Third office location in Denver, Colorado. Office location at 8101 E. Prentice Avenue opens in Denver, Colorado.
  6. Celebrated our 25-year anniversary as a Registered Investment Advisory Firm.
  7. Fourth office location in Phoenix, Arizona. Office location at 2141 East Camelback Road opens in Phoenix, Arizona.
  8. With a $5B AUM (as of December 2023), established a nationwide presence with a team size of 90+.
