Tanner Sterk is an Investment Associate at Capital Investment Advisors (CIA) in the Denver, CO office. Tanner is passionate about helping families and young professionals define and work towards their goals while helping them build a plan that helps families feel confident about their future.
Tanner joined the military out of high school and spent 6 years in the Army National Guard as a Motor Transport Operator. After Completing basic training in the summer, Tanner returned to his hometown in Mitchell, South Dakota to complete his AAS degree in Satellite Communications. He subsequently moved to Colorado in 2013 to start his career at Comcast before moving to Charter Communications. While working as an engineer at Charter, Tanner enrolled at Colorado State University – Global Campus and graduated two years later with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He then spent two years managing engineers before following his passion in finance, which led him to start his financial advising career at Northwestern Mutual.
Tanner lives in Centennial, CO with his girlfriend, Taylor, and his 5-year-old daughter, Eva. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his daughter and attending his girlfriend and her band’s concerts in Denver. Tanner also enjoys golfing, camping, spending time with friends, and everything sports, especially his Minnesota Vikings!
