Capital Investment Advisors was founded with a passion to help families sleep well at night (SWAN) and find happiness in retirement. We are a fee-only wealth management firm founded in 1996. Headquartered in Atlanta with additional offices in Tampa, Denver, Phoenix, and Dallas, we manage over $8 billion for more than 6,000 families approaching or living in retirement.
Fee-only means we are compensated solely by the families we serve. We do not earn commissions, kickbacks, or referral fees from product sponsors. As fiduciaries, we are also legally obligated to act in your best interest, so our advice is aligned with what is right for you, not with what pays the firm more.
We provide comprehensive wealth management for families, including investment management, retirement income planning, financial planning, in-house tax and accounting services, estate planning support, charitable giving strategies, insurance guidance, business planning, and senior living and elder care coordination.
Three things set us apart: our income investing approach, which is built around seeking consistent monthly cash flow rather than market timing; our integrated team of advisors and an in-house CPA working together on your full financial life; and our research-backed focus on factors linked to happiness in retirement, grounded in our research showcased in Wes Moss's books.
CIA charges a transparent advisory fee based on the assets we manage. Our fee schedule is 1.00% on the first $5 million, 0.75% on the next $5 million, and 0.50% on amounts over $10 million. We do not accept commissions or sales charges from any third party. Tax or other services may be billed separately. Please see our Form ADV for full details.
We serve multigenerational families across a wide range of financial complexity, with investable assets ranging from under $500,000 to $10 million and above. Most of our families are within ten years of retirement or already living in it, and they come to us seeking dependable income, clarity, and the confidence to help enjoy what they have built.
