Heather Pennington is the Director of Marketing at Capital Investment Advisors. She joined CIA after two decades working as an entrepreneur who ran her Marketing and Business Consultancy Firm based out of Atlanta. Through her time as a CEO/CMO she helped many companies with their Marketing and branding efforts, operations and technology, as well as overall growth. Her keen understanding of multiple disciplines stems through many years as a practitioner as well as her love for learning.
She attended Kennesaw State University where she received her B.A in 2001 and completed her Masters in Business, December 2016. She was accepted into the Doctorate program at KSU and attended 2016 -2017. In 2020 she took her love of learning and taught as Professor of Business at Kennesaw State University in the Coles College of Business. After studying in Cuba in April 2015, Heather wrote a white paper on How US Companies Should Approach Marketing in Cuba Post Embargo. She was awarded a Global Engagement Certification for her work. Over the last decade, she has published numerous articles, been invited to speak and lecture for different groups and clubs, and continues to be recognized for her well-rounded professional career.
When Heather is not at work, you will find her enjoying the outdoors whether that is hiking, gardening, or boating. She enjoys regularly going back home where she grew up in Melbourne, Florida to visit her family. With a zeal for life, she loves to travel and has been to many places around the world. Some of her favorite places she has traveled is Ireland, Cuba, the Caribbean, and the West Indies. Heather never turns down the chance to go air boating with her brothers, 4-wheeling, and even has a knack for buying toys and ATV’s and reselling them. She started a non-profit called Leading Next Generation in which she spends time taking needed things to the homeless as well as looking for opportunities to serve in her community.
