Q: I have about 127.000.00 in an IRA 20.000 of which is in the fidelity 2030 freedom fund should I just put rest in or try to spread it around in other investments I a 50 years old.
A: Thanks so much for your question. Unfortunately, I can’t give out specific recommendations since I don’t know your situation well enough. As a guide line we tell clients to own their age in income investments such as bonds, preferred stocks, and REIT’s. It appears that the Fidelity Freedom 2030 fund is about 60% stocks and 40% cash and bonds so this is not too far off from your age of 50. If you ever want to come in or set up phone consultation to discuss your situation if further detail just let us know. We offer a free one hour consultation.
