Q: I have question regarding all the emails I receive from all these so-called pundits with all their request for subscriptions for stock advice. Is there any one in particular you would recommend? You can spend anywhere from $39/year up to $5000/year. I am retired and have about $3,500,000 in taxable and IRA’s and Roth’s. I do not take any distributions, since I have enough monthly income and no debt. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
A: It’s difficult to answer your question because we are not sure of what type of advice you are looking for. These “services” can vary widely in their message, strategy, etc. I don’t believe that a single newsletter or “online” stock advice firms are going to be your sole answer. None of them are giving you specific advice around your goals and objectives and aligning your strategy with your risk tolerance, family dynamic, and retirement plans. In the end, we don’t have a single newsletter or “pundit” to recommend. The best advice we could give, is if you are managing your assets on your own, “Keep It Simple”. Using a combination of low-cost index funds and companies that you understand, know and trust, while investing for the long-term is likely to be your best recipe for success.
