Q: If I became a client, would I transfer my 401k, my brokerage account and cash savings over to CIA to manage? Or would all my accouns stay as is, and you just provide advise?
A: As a fee only investment manager, we are not the custodian for our client accounts. The monies we manage are held at either Scwhab or Fidelity and we are only authorized as an “investment manager” on those accounts – which allows us to make trades and send you money at your request. We cannot be an investment advisor on accounts that are “held away” from the custodians we work with, nor can we ever “take custody” of our client’s assets.
